In Memoriam

n memoriam to those who are not with us

I think of those
who went before
oft to war
and some to peace

I look out over that silent bridge
silent markers
restless flags
Friends old or never made

I think myself lucky
to pay my respects
to shed a tear
to remember ones dear

I count my blessings
Day by day
For He who made me
Sustains me

I know my purpose now
Remembrance on remembrance
For what is there of us but that
Good fellowship follows us all there, I think

And yet I know
I too will go
and others may say of me
He lived in fellowship, a good life

We all know the sour taste
of life awry
of plans unmade
Let us together remember
remember
remember
