The Willimantic Monday night meeting is a closed, non smoking meeting open to recovering Sex and Love Addicts. The meeting is held in the basement of the First Congregational Church, 199 Valley Street, Willimantic from 7:15 PM until 8:45 PM. Parking is in the church yard and entry is through the portico located off Walnut Street. We call ourselves the Augustine Fellowship and are listed that way in the church directory. We usually have 6-8 in attendance. Occasionally the group will become as large as 12.

Our meeting structure is varied. Usually on the first Monday of the month we do step work related to the number of the month so that we cycle through all the steps. Usually one of the other meetings is a traditions meeting, again for the tradition of that numbered month. The remainder of meetings are the choice of the chair. Chair rotations are every two months. We have a number of sponsor ready members.

We use both the S.L.A.A. big book and as a work in progress the Simple Steps work book to allow for greater reach and comprehension.

The meeting is open to male and female addicts. There is no smoking allowed on church grounds.

We must respect the privacy and confidentiality of every SLAA member’s name and stories. What we hear or see in our meetings must remain within our walls. Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of SLAA’s 12 step program of recovery, as set out in the Twelfth Tradition. We are sharing extremely personal matters in our meetings; we need always to know that what we confide to other members of the group will not be spread to outsiders.
